I also printed the PDF that caused the printer to stop after i got it up again. I also have the computer printing direct to printer now via IP instead of to thru the print server. I did that, and it does not always work. Also using the Dell Open Print Driver does not always fix the issue. Last thing I did was update the firmware again. Dell said that should fix it this time,. I will restart and it will go away and it will be fine for about 3 to 5 days and it will disable itself and say the same thing on the screen!!! What could be causing this? Dell wants to replace both of the main boards on the printer. Is that the only way to go or is there another way to fix this???

Does it happen when printer is printing a job from a PC, or when it just stands alone idle? In first case it's probably a job that is generated by the driver which cannot be properly "digested" by the printer. In this case, press select and return on the OP as soon as you get the secondary code message and write it down. Then call Dell support and tell them about it. If the printer is getting RIP error when being idle, I'd recommend disconencting it from the network for a couple of days to see if the error appears.
