Over episodes of Bear in the Big Blue House were created and released sporadically over the past ten years. A short-lived series entitled Breakfast with Bear began in The Walt Disney Company purchased the Bear characters in as part of the deal to purchase the Muppets and other characters from the Henson Company. Like the Muppets, Bear has attained such widespread affection that he has starred in a stage show and appeared a few times on the Hollywood Squares game show and other programs.
Some have suggested that Disney actually paid more for the Bear properties than they paid for the Muppets. There are early plans for additional DVD releases, a re-launch of the shows on television, a new album of Bear music, other merchandise and even a new travelling stage show. The big news though is that the folks at the mouse house are seriously considering a feature film for the seven-foot tall, friendly bear. Official announcements are expected later this year so stay tuned!

My daughter used to listen to the clean up song when she cleaned her room. The Disney Channel logo with "UK version produced by" text. Seen at the end of UK prints of most episodes. Bear in the Big Blue House was initially produced from to The voice actor for "Luna" the moon was played by Lynne Thigpen, who abruptly died due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Thigpen's death led to a four-year hiatus of Bear in the Big Blue House.
A planned film version of Bear was also put on hold. Thigpen's friends and family established a non-profit foundation, The Lynne Thigpen - Bobo Lewis Foundation, to help young actors and actresses learn how to survive and succeed in New York theater and to mentor the next generation of Broadway stars.
After the hiatus and the spin-off Breakfast with Bear , new episodes returned to the Disney Channel in April , with the last episode airing on April 28 , Repeats of the show ceased altogether in May Disney Wiki Explore.
