Funorb updates

I've been thinking about this myself. I had such great times on there. I think the high point of Funorb was when they released Armies of Gielnor best game ever. But i guess it just died. My friends still play a few games there, and I enjoy a game or two or Arcanists from time to time. I loved funorb, I got attracted it whenever it was started, shame my near achievements will never reach due to dead multiplayer games. There are too many Arcanists addicts we have on funorb, just as runescape has the word "noob" we funorbers have "arcanist addicts" which is what we describe people who only play arcanists and have few achievements.

That's cause there are a billion other places to go to play assortment of online browser based games like ArmorGames, Kongregate, and Bubblebox games, just to name a couple off the top of my head. I remember poking around a little bit on FunOrb back when it was first released, and I wasn't all too swayed to come back. I can't really describe what it was that just didn't grip my interest, either; it just didn't happen.

There've been a lot of valid points raised in this thread so far, and I'm trying to find something new to add on to it so I'm not just quoting people and nodding my head and whatnot.

It's going to be really hard for Jagex to break out of the little marketing shell that Runescape has gotten them. As far as products go, they've done really well for themselves. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for them on one hand to have that reputation of an uncool "kid's game" and not being able to express themselves as, you know.

An actual gaming company. I think what would have helped FunOrb a lot was to get on the Facebook tract a lot earlier than what they did. We all roll our eyes at the "Facebook connect! Going back to the point that kids from Runescape were the ones playing FunOrb, too bad they didn't try first and foremost to break beyond that.

Does anyone remember seeing anything on YouTube, on Facebook, anything besides that? Or was the only update from the main Runecape page? Yeah, true. But it actually had some pretty good games on there. Arcanists and Armies of Gielnor were a hit. I was awesome at them as well. Armies of Glenor should of just been put in RS though, it would of made sense to put it in instead of mobilising armies.

Those two games I'll grant you were decent. For me though two decent games comes nowhere close to justifying the membership fee however much it was. Ambo Posted May 11, As FunOrb's Membership statistics keep getting lower and lower, this radically reduces the odds of any more updates being released.

Herty It earns money with a " freemium " model: most players play for free, and Jagex earns money by displaying advertising to them, and some pay a monthly subscription for various benefits. FunOrb was launched on 27 February in English and German with 18 games , a small number of which were updated versions or sequels of games from the original Jagex website.

It was initially aimed at the "time-pressed" gamer market and updated every 14 days. Jagex have since moved towards having less frequent updates and larger, more complex, new games aimed at time-rich players. Brazilian Portuguese and French have been added to the language line-up, and work is ongoing to launch the site in some other European languages.

According to a J-Mod post on the official RuneScape forums, FunOrb is now a discontinued project, and will no longer be updated. FunOrb Wiki Explore. Top Content. Recent Changes.
